About Me

I am a creative graphic designer and photographer with more than 15 years of experience in print design, marketing, photography and multimedia.

I began my career in community journalism, working as a photojournalist and graphic designer. I have received numerous awards for my photography and graphic design projects. I currently work as a graphic designer at St. Johns River State College in the Publications department. I work on various projects, including catalog design, public relations advertising campaigns, and many other design projects for individual departments.

Notable Awards

Graphic Design: During my time at The Southeast Sun, I received numerous awards for graphic design from the Alabama Press Association. I received first place in the Best Use of Graphics or Illustration category in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. I also earned page design awards in the Best Lifestyle/Family Pages category and Best Sports Page category for The Sun throughout my tenure. While working for SJR State, I have received several awards from the Association of Florida Colleges Communications and Marketing Commission Awards of Excellence, including a first-place award in 2020 for graphics designed for social media, and a first-place award in 2021 for a Foundation fundraising piece and a poster design.

Photography: I also received numerous awards while serving as a photojournalist at The Southeast Sun. From the Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest, I received first place in the Best Photo Essay category in 2008, 2015 and 2019. I also placed first in the Best Feature Photo category in 2008, the Best Sports Photo category in 2016, and the Best Spot News Photo category in 2018.

Multimedia: In 2018, I received first place from the Alabama Press Association while representing The Southeast Sun in the Creative Use of Multimedia category. In 2021, I received a third-place award from the Association of Florida Colleges Communications and Marketing Commission Award of Excellence for a video promotion on social media.
